Beach

Went to the beach the other night. Was a lot colder there then it was at home. A little too cold - we did not stay long. Not sure you can appreciate the waves in the background - it was windy too.

Katie had to swing for a few minutes - I think she would live in a swing if she could.

Although it was short it was a nice time.

Please Touch Museum

Mothers Day - we drove to Philly to the Please Touch Museum. It started out very slow - stuck in traffic for over an hour. Once we got there it was fun. It is a small museum with exhibits that kids can interact "touch".
There was a garage area. Here Katie is building a car - she adds the tires and grill and takes it for a spin. They had other cars and a bus to playing and a crane to operate.

They had a large water area - Katie loved it. A little "river" which didn't work very well but also an area that they could splash in.

A little musical section. They had a large walk on piano like in the movie Big, but she didn't want to play with that one. She like the little one that she could sit down at.

Bill played a long also. There is one area where you can try to build planes then send them up this rail system and see if they can fly down. The pieces weren't very aerodynamic.

They had a little town section also. A grocery store to buy things at - which she enjoyed. A shoe store and a little hospital. And a little house with a garden.
It was a long day and she didn't nap on the ride home. We all had a good time. She passed out that night right after her bath.

The sun finally came out yesterday. I took advantage of it and we went to the Popcorn Park Zoo. The geese had babies ( quack quack waddle waddle ).
The peacocks were in "season" and crying a lot.
It was cool enough that most of the animals were out. Some of the deer looked pregnant - we'll have to go back and see if there are any fawns.
Katie wanted to eat the popcorn herself.

I love watching the bears - they always seem so gentle - Not that I would want to see them without the fence between us .

Dandelions

Dandelions - ever lawn owners worst nightmare and every kids fantasy. How can you tell her no when she starts blowing them all over the yard .

Swinging and Singing

Two of Katie's favorite things - Swinging and Singing

Hide - n - Seek

Well its been raining forever now. Katie complains about it every day - "Mommy why is it raining" She is getting real good at hide -n - seek.
Except that she will continue to hide in the same spot the whole afternoon.

Beach

Well today was even hotter then yesterday. Katie and I decided to head to the beach ( along with half of the other NJ residents). It was perfect - except it took 15 minutes to find a parking spot, and the water was freezing and the bathrooms were locked - other then that it was perfect.
We had a lot of fun. Katie spent a lot of time chasing the waves, despite the water numbing your feet within 15 seconds. Maybe kids are unaware of the pain the cold water creates in adult feet.
We built a few sand castles - this time I had our shovel and pail :) - just forgot the camera :(.
We walked out on the rocks and played on the play ground for a while. It was a beautiful day, sun was shining and there was a cool breeze in the air.
Hopefully this summer will not be much hotter the it was this weekend. I think I might have to buy us some beach passes this year.
