Picky Eater

Ugh, Bill and I never wanted to force Katie to try new things - we always hoped that as she got older she would get more adventurous in her eating, but I fear she is getting worse. Last week we had a huge fight over trying a small peanut butter sandwich. She likes nuts and she likes bread - just don't put the two together. I thought that maybe if we made the peanut butter she would eat it - wrong!
We had her put cashews ( we didn't have peanuts ) into the food processor and chopped them up. She would eat the whole can of cashews if we let her - she wouldn't touch them chopped up. She tried a small amount, but would not have it on bread or crackers.
Bill thought maybe if we chopped up a Kit Kat ( which is one of her favorite things ) she would eat it and then eat the cashews - wrong. She refused to eat the Kit Kat - uuuggghhh!!!
Well after spending some time in her room she came out and eat the Kit Kat and the crushed cashews - but said she didn't like it.
She is one tough cookie. I hope we figure this out before she starts kindergarten next year.

Christmas

Merry Christmas to all. We hope you enjoyed your holidays. Katie picked out a beautiful tree this year and helped decorate it.
She asked Santa for a Lady Bug pillow pet - which she did get and enjoys very much. She also received a ton of arts and crafts, painting , and creative play toys - which was perfect for those snowed in days
She wanted a tent for her bed - it comes with a cool light also.
Twister - which I was luck enough to get out of playing , but I am sure I will have my share in the days to come.

My brother drove his family down for the day, but unfortunately I did not take enough pictures. They brought there dog also and had a wonderful visit. Katie loves playing with her cousins. This picture is very typical of my father with just about any electronic device - he is challenged when it comes to operating a device that requires more the two steps to complete any function - he "just wants to know why its so difficult!"

Backyard Wonderland

Well the weather warmed up a little and the snow became just right for building. Katie was off from school this week and my parents were kind enough to watch her all week. They had a ton of fun with the snow. They built great snowmen.
Emma, their dog, had a blast also playing in the snow.
Papa built a huge snow fort where Katie was able to hide and sneak attack Emma

Sledding

We found a better hill to go sledding - the side of the lake by six flags.
I went down with her the first few times then she was ready to go it alone - she did great!
Looks like a big hill from here - definitely a bumpy ride.
Turn your volume up - you can here her coming down the hill - too cute

Snow

We had a huge snow storm at the end of 2010. Snowed for about 12 hours straight - thought it would never stop. We went out late in the day to enjoy some of the snow
A little sledding on the front lawn - not the greatest hill but she had fun.
Day two and the snow finally stopped.
Huge drifts on the roof.
Happy days - the snow was too soft to pack into a snow man - so we settled for a smiley face.

Karate

Katie has been taking karate now for 2 months. She does one day at school and on Saturdays Bill takes her to the Dojo. She has really enjoyed it and is doing very well.
This is her mean face - she does that really well - Master Eric loves it.
She has received her 5 stripes on her first belt and will be moving up to her new belt next week.
Her stripes are for Focus, Coordination, Memory, Control and Fitness.

We are all very proud of her - keep it up kiddo.

Santa

Well it only took two visits to get her to sit on Santa's lap. She felt brave enough with her pillow pet and hello kitty.
They were having a nice little conversation.
I think he was admiring her pillow pet. She did ask Santa for another pillow pet - the lady bug. She doesn't have a tail and will not bother her while she is sleeping like the unicorn.

What a great age.
