Good bye dear friend

Jibe went to Heaven the other night. She was an amazing companion. I had adopted her my second year of vet school - we've been through a lot together. She will be deeply missed.

New Roof

Well when we bought the house we knew it needed a new roof. So four days after our closing our roofers were up there - tearing off the old roof and putting on a new roof. I must say they did a great job. If any one needs any roof repairs please let me know so I can give you their name and number. They started at 7:30 in the morning and were there until 9 pm working on our roof - finished it in three days - amazing.
They placed added needed support along the roof line.
End of day one
There was a lot of water issues - mold issues and areas were rotten. They actually removed the gable off the front of the house - still need to get some gutters.
No more gable :( little sad but will help in the long run with proper drainage.

We've Moved

Good bye Jackson Hello New Egypt. We sold our house and moved so I can be closer to work and have Katie closer to me. I fell in love with the house the first time I saw it in November. It has been a long process to finally get into it but here we are.
We both love the thought of being able to park in the garage - we will see how that pans out. Behind the garage is a huge room - which Bill will make his work shop and hobby room.
The kitchen is wonderful. Still missing a refrigerator - that's the plan for today - buy a fridge.
I think this will be our formal dining room - will eventually pull up the rugs. There was a working wood burning stove that the previous owners closed off , we will most likely replace it and heat the house with it again ( we loved the one in Jackson ).
Our living room - furniture comes next week. Has a pass-through into the kitchen - very nice.
Big backyard - will have to work on Bill to get a pool in there somewhere, maybe also a garden.
Back of the house.
The room has a lot of little specialties for Katie. She has this little door that opens into her room - she loves it.

I decorated in Hello Kitty for now - we will see how long that lasts. She wanted a pink and purple room. It was actually purple to start and has a very faded purple carpet. One wall had wallpaper which we took off and painted pink.
Found these online - cute little "stickers" that easily remove from the wall. So when she decides shes tired of Hello Kitty we don't have to repaint the whole wall.
Still need to repaint her bathroom ( purple and pink ) , but for now she is happy with the Hello Kitty.
